Our Youth Engaged in Leadership Program (YELP) is a dynamic 10- to 12-week journey designed to empower 6th–12th graders with essential leadership skills and values. YELP prepares young leaders for future challenges by offering comprehensive training in various aspects of leadership, effective communication, and community engagement.
Throughout the program, YELPers engage in a diverse range of learning experiences, including topics such as Leadership Fundamentals, Effective Communication, Public Speaking, Business Etiquette, Team Building, Stress and Time Management, and Leadership in Youth-Adult Partnerships. They also explore the significance of community service and volunteerism, which foster a strong sense of responsibility and connection to their community.
YELP goes beyond leadership development by addressing important life skills, including navigating peer pressure, understanding cultural diversity, and fostering community awareness. Participants are also guided through the process of resume writing and engage in thought-provoking discussions with community leaders. By the end of the program, YELPers not only possess enhanced leadership skills but also a deepened commitment to community service, making them well-prepared and compassionate leaders of the future.
With a wealth of experience and a commitment to well-being, we invite you to explore the transformative possibilities that await you. Together, let's embark on a path towards enhanced mental health and a more fulfilling life.
